Imam's Message

In Islam, the significance of the Masjid can never be overemphasized. Allah (S.W.T) says in Quran:

“In fact, the mosques of Allah are built-up only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and those who establish Salah and pay Zakah and who fear none but Allah. So, it is hoped that they are to be among those on the right path.”

                                                                           (Quran 18:09)

And the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihe Wasallam) said: “ Whoever shall build a Masjid for Allah, Allah shall build a house for him in paradise.” (Transmitted by Imam Bukhari).

Therefore, the presence of a Masjid in any community is a source of divine blessings for its members. Al-Hamdulillah, the Muslim community of Northern Rhode Island is blessed Masjid Al-Islam, which was built by the primary support of Dr. Muhammad Arif and others in the local community in 1995.

The Masjid’s foundation was laid with the aim to serve the religious and spiritual needs of the local Muslims. Masjid Al-Islam offers congregational prayers, Islamic education, religious advice by qualified Imams, as well as many other community activities.

Ikram-ul Haq is the current resident Imam of Masjid Al-Islam and has served since July 2005. Please follow the “Imam’s Bio” link to learn more about the Imam.

We urge all the community members to help us improve by offering their suggestions, time, expertise, and financial support in maintaining the House of Allah (S.W.T.). Jazakum Allahu khairan.

May Allah protect all of you. Ameen
